1,000 paid internships just opened — here's who qualifies
The Public Service Commission has advertised 1,000 paid internships under the Ministry of Education's Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5, open to graduates from 2022 onward holding a degree or diploma in ICT, or a degree in Education with an ICT specialisation. Successful interns get a 12-month, government-stipended placement supporting digital learning in sub-county schools — real work experience, not just a certificate.
Applications close October 5 and go only through publicservice.go.ke or psckjobs.go.ke — PSC has explicitly warned its services are free, and anyone demanding payment for shortlisting or appointment is a scammer, not a shortcut.

Want to switch your course? It depends which "change" you mean
KUCCPS has clarified a point that's confused thousands of new university students: if you want to change your course but stay at the same university, you don't need KUCCPS at all — that's handled directly through your university's academic office. KUCCPS only gets involved if you're changing institutions, through its inter-institutional transfer process.
Know which one you actually need before you waste time on the wrong process — a course-only change starts with a visit to your faculty office, not the KUCCPS portal.

El Niño rains are coming — Kenya Met says "very strong"
Kenya Met puts the odds of a very strong El Niño event this year at 81%, with above-average rainfall expected across roughly 80% of the country between October and December. Western Kenya may see onset as early as late September, with most other regions from the third week of October.

A KSh28 million housing scam just reached court
A director of Gladdens Homes Limited has been charged after 22 people reportedly lost a combined KSh28 million paying for houses that, prosecutors allege, were never delivered as promised on a Nairobi plot marketed under a housing project name. The case is before Makadara Law Courts; the accused is presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
Whatever the outcome, the pattern is the lesson: verify a land title directly with the Ministry of Lands, confirm the selling company is actually registered, and never hand over full payment before you've seen — and independently verified — the paperwork.
